About CCLM
HISTORY . The establishment of Cavite City Library and Museum was spearheaded by former City Mayor Timoteo O. Encarnacion, Jr. It was given legal mandate by the Sangguniang Panglungsod ( City Council ) through Resolution No.94-086 which was unanimously approved on November 4, 1994.
MISSION
The CCLM was created to serve as a repository of historical and cultural information and artifacts in the form of books, photographs, memorabilia, relics, old furniture and household objects, that chronicle the city's history and the persons involved in it. It was also conceived to preserve these cultural materials for posterity, so that the future generation of Cavitenos may learn about their city's heroic and colorful city.
The library provides a collection of books that will serve the research and information needs of city residents.
The Caviteniana Section in the library is a collection of written materials, published or unpublished, about Cavite City or written by a Caviteno. To date, the CCLM has books, theses, periodicals and other library materials in this section, which are rich sources of historical data about our city.
VISION
We envision a community of Cavitenos who are knowledgeable and concerned about their city's heroic place in the history and evolution of the Philippines as a nation. We also envision a community of book lovers, people who love to read, whether for information or entertainment.
